Canadian Army Focus Areas
Canada’s defence objectives demand a Canadian Army (CA) that is agile, disciplined, inclusive, diverse, and innovative. We must be capable of generating forces that will provide operational excellence on concurrent missions at home and around the world.
The CA must anticipate, adapt to, and act on any threat against Canada and protect her interests while remaining a strong ally and partner.
To ensure we continue to be ready for those challenges and keep pace in a modern world characterized by rapid change that is technological, environmental, and social in nature, the CA near- to mid-term focus rests in five key areas.
These range from training and retention to our structure and workplace culture. Each is interlinked with and supportive of the others. At the centre of each is our people. They are our core strength.
