(MK) Hi, I'm Lt Navy Melissa Kia from NAVRES Headquarters and you're in beautiful downtown Quebec City with me today.

We're going to do a "60 seconds with" about the Navy Bike Ride, so if I look really stressed, it's because I just don't have enough time.

So... Here we go!

I'm going to start my timer.

And go! OK,

first question. "About the Navy Bike Ride, who can participate?"

Well, this is great because it's anybody: old, young, go on the website, either on the navybikeride.com or to Race Roster and sign up.

"What is something I can't live without?" Well, that's really simple. It's my bike.

Next question... "What am I most grateful for?"

I'm definitely grateful for the fact that I get to be a member of the Navy and participate in this really cool event.

"Where's the most interesting place that I have cycled?"

This one is really cool.

I got to do the Navy Bike Ride last year in Bahrain while I was on Operation ARTEMIS in the desert.

Ah! I'm having a hard time getting questions.

"What inspires me? "My family. Every time I go on my ride, I kind of think about my dad.

Next question... "Why is the Navy Bike Ride important to me?"

It's part of the Navy culture. Oh no! I'm out of time, but I'm still going to answer the question.

It's definitely part of our Navy culture. We have a tendency to stick stationary bikes anywhere we can on this ship so sailors can stay healthy and happy at sea.

Thanks a lot!
