Nominate your colleagues for a Celebrating Excellence Award!

The 2022 Celebrating Excellence Awards (CEA) nomination period is now OPEN!

The Corporate Awards and Recognition Secretariat (CARS) is accepting submissions for the 2022 CEA, the Defence Team’s esteemed awards program recognizing and honouring members that exceeded expectations and achieved excellence throughout the past year.

Recognition through initiatives such as the CEA is especially meaningful through challenging and uncertain times. This is an incredible opportunity to commemorate and highlight the accomplishments and hard work of the DND/CAF’s extraordinary people.

All DND employees and CAF personnel are eligible to be nominated for an award and to nominate other deserving individuals or teams (up to a maximum of ten individuals). We have a stellar line-up of awards including:

1. DM Award of Distinction: This most prestigious award recognizes exceptional contributions to the furtherance of the DND’s horizontal approach to managing its business, its service lines, and its support function.
2. DM John Forster Collaboration Award: Recognizes those who exceed expectations in the advancement of Defence or Whole-of-Government priorities through exceptional collaboration with partners and stakeholders.
3. DM/CDS Regional Achievement Award: Recognizes the exceptional work conducted in the regions and reinforces the national construct of DND/CAF.
4. DM/CDS Organizational Culture Award: Recognizes those who have demonstrated superior capacities in adopting the mindsets and behaviours that will meet the changing needs and expectations of the Department. It not only provides an opportunity to recognize those who embrace the values in the statement of Defence Ethics, but also recognizes those who remain agile in today’s dynamic environment.
5. DM/CDS Excellence in Defence Award: Recognizes those who significantly contribute to the furtherance of Departmental and Government of Canada priorities in areas such as Leadership, Professionalism and Career.
6. DM/CDS Team Impact Award: Recognizes those who distinguish themselves by making a substantial contribution to the Defence Team in areas such as Reconciliation, Anti-Racism, Official Languages, Well-Being, Digitalization and Modernization, and Unsung Hero (behind the scenes contributor who stands out for their positive attitude, commitment to excellence and selflessness).

Nominations must be endorsed by L1s and submitted to the Awards & Recognition Team via your L1 Awards and Recognition Co-ordinator (accessible only on the National Defence network) no later than April 29, 2022.
