Travel and Contact Security program
March 7, 2022 - Defence Stories
The Travel and Contact Security (TCS) program exists to educate and inform DND and CAF personnel while they are travelling outside Canada either on business or on personal travel. DND employees and CAF members, and their respective organizations, are informed of threats so that they may make prudent decisions regarding their own personal safety and also the safety of any DND/CAF information and assets that may be in their possession.
Here are some key points with regards to this program:
- Prior to your international travel submit a Notice of Intent to Travel (NOIT) (accessible only on the National Defence network) form for business or personal travel;
- General information to both individuals and organizations related to natural hazards, civil unrest, terrorism, criminal threats, and other information related to security-related procedures applicable to a country of destination;
- Defensive security briefings and debriefings related to the hazards of inadvertent disclosure of sensitive information;
- Determination of the risk level of a travel destination if you intend to travel internationally with a government mobile phones.
