Mental Health Week is a Canadian tradition where schools, communities, and workplaces come together to celebrate, protect, and promote mental health. This year’s theme is all about empathy and how to #GetReal about mental health
Check out the following events:

#GetReal about Mental Health with Canadian Olympian, Melissa Bishop and Paralympian, Cindy Ouellet!
ADM HR-Civ invites you to join a conversation with Canadian Olympian, Melissa Bishop and Paralympian, Cindy Ouellet, about overcoming mental health challenges and what physical activity has done for them!
Melissa Bishop is an Olympic runner who is currently the national record holder in the 800 meter race, being the first Canadian to finish with a time below one minute 58 seconds. She has competed at the 2012, 2016 and 2020 Olympics. Her World Championship medal was the first medal awarded to a Canadian woman in the 800 meter race.

Cindy Ouellet
Cindy Ouellet is a four-time Paralympian in wheelchair basketball, and a one-time Paralympian in Para-Nordic skiing. She is the first woman in Quebec to take part in both the summer and winter games. A bone cancer survivor, Cindy’s dedication to sport embodies her resiliency. Currently pursuing a doctorate in biomechanical engineering, she is also an ambassador for Sport’Aide, an organization which provides guidance, support and orientation services for young athletes.

Join us for a conversation with Mary Gordon and learn about the connection between empathy and mental health.
Mary Gordon is recognized internationally as an award winning social entrepreneur, educator, author, child advocate and parenting expert who has created programs informed by the power of empathy. Over 25 years ago, Ms. Gordon created Roots of Empathy, an international children's charity which now offers programs in every province in Canada and on four continents.
- Join us on May 6 from 1:00-2:30 p.m. (ET) for a discussion on empathy. Register for the bilingual event on Microsoft Stream (you are now leaving the Government of Canada website).
