It’s Indigenous Awareness Week! This is a great opportunity to remind ourselves of the invaluable contribution Indigenous peoples bring to the workplace. With summer approaching, we want to remind you that DND has been actively recruiting Indigenous students!

Hiring a student brings new perspectives to the organization as students have fresh education, different insights, experiences and culture which can add value to your team. We need to hire future leaders to strengthen the Defence Team.

It’s not too late to hire a student to join your team this summer! You can request student resumes, including Indigenous students, from the Student Programs and Sourcing Team who can help you find the right fit for your team. You can also access the Indigenous Student Employment Inventory from the Federal Student Employment Program or Indigenous Career Pathways. If you would like to prioritize a position for students from an identified employment equity group, include this in your request.
