The Mural of Honour commemorates Canadian service personnel from each of the three branches of the Armed Forces. The original painting was installed in the atrium of The Military Museums, Calgary, Alberta in November 2008.

Did you know that the National Veterans’ Week Speakers Program (NVWSP) has launched its annual program and that in-person presentations are once again possible? It has, and they are!

If you are an educator or a community leader, or even just someone who has an interest in history and heritage, consider inviting a Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) speaker for an in-person or live virtual presentation with your group.

Maybe you’d prefer to have the flexibility of including pre-recorded videos from our CAF speaker video series, which are geared to various audiences and age levels? Or, maybe you’d like to participate with other classrooms from across the country in a question and answer panel discussion with CAF members.

If you would like to incorporate any of those ideas in your Veterans’ Week activities – or even if you’d just like to watch the videos yourself – please submit a request through the NVWSP website

For currently serving CAF members who want to bring history to life, we encourage you to volunteer. CAF member participation is key to the program’s success.

We are looking for dynamic speakers to engage with Canadians during Veterans’ Week, and help us remember important events, such as the 105th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge and the 80th Anniversary of the creation of the Women’s Royal Canadian Naval Service.

Questions can be directed to the National Veterans’ Week Speakers Program coordinator at 1-833-223-8322 or DNDRemembrance.SouvenirMDN@forces.gc.ca.
