Defence Ethics Survey: Help inform decisions on personnel programs and policies that affect you

March 27, 2023 - Defence Stories

The 2023 Defence Ethics Survey launches in March and will be sent to a large, random sample of Defence Team members.

During this period of culture evolution within the Defence Team, it is more important than ever for us to hear your perspectives on ethics-related issues in the workplace.

While completion of the survey is voluntary, the participation of those who have been selected will be invaluable in providing senior leaders with essential information on topics such as ethical risk factors within the organization, perceptions of the Department of National Defence and Canadian Armed Forces Code of Values, and opinions on ethics training and activities. Respondents will also have an opportunity to offer comments in their own words.

Another reason participation is particularly important is that some questions from other Defence Team surveys have been incorporated into this year’s survey, such as perceptions on well-being, intentions to stay in the CAF/DND, job satisfaction, confidence in leadership, and work-life balance. Completing the survey, if invited to do so, thus provides multiple stakeholders with valuable information through a single instrument.

The Defence Ethics Survey is an ongoing collaboration between the Defence Ethics Programme and Director General Military Personnel Research and Analysis. It is run every few years and was last conducted in 2017. For more information about the survey, contact ethicssurvey-sondagesurlethique@forces.gc.ca.
