Psychological Safety, Moral Injuries and Trauma: RCN Mentorship session #7

Join the next Mentorship Program, 23-02 Session #7 Part A for the first of a 2-part session on Psychological Safety, Moral Injuries and Trauma

The Department of National Defence (DND) and Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) are seeking to cultivate psychologically safe workplaces that promote diversity, inclusion and equity.

As marginalized communities and their allies come together and discuss paths to success in this endeavor, identified barriers to culture change include senses of institutional betrayal, unconscious bias, and poor understanding of moral injury and trauma. Institutional leaders across the organization continue to advocate for change, but mid-level leaders can be intimidated by complex procedures, a fear of re-victimizing those they are attempting to help, and can suffer from inadequate training.

Please join Commander Stephen Churm, Naval Reserve Special Advisor Workplace Relations, in an exploration of cognitive diversity, influencing culture change, promoting trauma informed person-centred approaches, and ally ship.

Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) sailors – Regular and Reserve Force – at all ranks and civilian employees at all levels are invited to the next session of the RCN’s Mentorship Program.

You are invited to attend the next group session:

The program is also open to all CAF personnel and all DND civilian employees. If you can’t make it, don’t worry! Recordings can be found on the SharePoint page.

These sessions are available on Microsoft Teams. Everyone is encouraged to actively participate, share their insights and ask questions. For more information, visit the Mentorship Program’s intranet page.
