Slow Down for Turtles and Other Wildlife – Protect Nature Challenge

Turtles are some of the slowest and oldest wildlife on Earth.

During the spring migration period, be particularly careful on the roads, slowing down and braking for these precious creatures.

Many of our roads cut through important migration routes for a wide variety of Canadian wildlife. Road mortality is the leading cause of death for snakes in Canada (and many of our native snake species are at risk). So please keep your eyes peeled, particularly in marsh and forested areas, and slow down for all living creatures crossing our roads.

Slowing down through wild spaces can also give you a chance to better appreciate the nature just outside your window.
