Delays — Processing incoming complaints and examinations

We are currently experiencing delays. At this time we are processing complaints received for the week of April 8-12, 2024. There is also a 60 day delay in assigning cases requiring an examination. If you feel that your situation is urgent, please call us directly at 1-866-586-3839.

At the Office of the Taxpayers' Ombudsperson, we are committed to providing you the best possible service.


Our goal is to:

  • contact you within five business days after receiving your complaint, 95% of the time
  • complete an examination of your complaint within 120 business days of it being assigned to an examination officer, 80% of the time
