Cancellation of the form CF 1158, Application for Membership in the Sea, Army, or Air Cadets

1. Effective immediately, form CF 1158, Application for Membership in the Canadian Cadet Organizations, is fully replaced by the Online Registration Tool (ORT), which was first introduced at reference in August 2020. The current CF 1158, Application for Membership in the Sea, Army, or Air Cadets is no longer to be used by corps/squadrons. Should a corps/squadron require a printed copy of the registration form, they may print the ORT form from Canada.ca.
2. With the introduction of the ORT, it was determined that the CF 1158, Application for Membership in the Sea, Army, or Air Cadets would no longer be updated and consequently it would become outdated. The content of the registration process is currently under review and updates to the ORT are expected to be implemented prior to the start of the 2023-2024 training year. Corps/squadrons should only print copies of the ORT if an applicant is unable to use the ORT. Individuals with cadets.gc.ca email accounts will be notified via email as updates to the ORT come into effect.
3. Any required updates to the annual validation process as a result of the review of the registration process will be communicated and promulgated concurrently with changes to the ORT.
4. Any questions concerning the replacement of the form CF 1158, Application for Membership in the Sea, Army, or Air Cadets by the ORT may be directed to the RCSU J1 sections.
