Start a Junior Canadian Ranger patrol in my community

In order to have a JCR Patrol, a community must:

  • Be located in a northern, coastal or isolated area of Canada
  • Have an active adult Canadian Ranger Patrol nearby
  • Show that its community leaders would be supportive of the program
  • Demonstrate that there are enough interested youth in the community to justify starting a Patrol
  • Have a place for the Patrol to train
  • Form a group of adults who are willing to help deliver the program or be part of a supporting committee

If the community meets all of these criteria, you can contact the Canadian Ranger Patrol Group (CRPG) for your area to find out more information about the process for opening a new Patrol.
