Falling Number proficiency testing
Falling number is an important quality factor for wheat producers and exporters, impacting flour quality, baking performance and overall market value. The Canadian Grain Commission offers a proficiency testing program for laboratories performing Falling Number analysis.
One type of Falling Number proficiency test is available for Canada Western Red Spring wheat and Canada Western Amber Durum wheat:
Program features
Subscribers will receive:
- one sample of ground Canada Western Red Spring wheat or ground Canada Western Amber Durum wheat, weighing 250 ± 50 grams, every two months for 12 months
- a notification email when a proficiency test sample is shipped that includes information on the deadline for submitting results
- a confidential and unique laboratory code
- a form for submission of results
- a final report with their results and a statistical analysis of all participants’ results
A subscription runs from April 1 to March 31 each year and clients will be invoiced in April. The cost will be prorated if a client enrols later in the fiscal year.
