Scheduled outages: EDI and select portals

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) schedules regular maintenance outages of its electronic data interchange (EDI) systems and its eManifest and Canadian Export Reporting System (CERS) portals outside of peak hours. Plan ahead to limit disruptions at the border. Find out what to do during outages or interruptions.

Outage release procedures

The System Outage Contingency Plan describes the procedures to follow when any CBSA system outage occurs. If an outage affects the movement of your commercial goods across the border, follow these procedures to allow customs officers to process and release the goods so that they may continue to their intended destination. These procedures apply in all modes of transportation.

Note: Sign up for email bulletins to be notified about planned or unplanned outages affecting all CBSA commercial systems.

Scheduled maintenance outages for 2026

The dates of the outages listed below are for the information of EDI, eManifest and CERS portal clients only. They are subject to change.

The CBSA typically schedules maintenance outages on weekends in the early morning. Clients can expect additional outages for the migration of system releases, but exact dates and times have not been determined. Updated and more detailed information will be communicated by bulletin before each outage.

Note: The following monthly maintenance scheduled outages should not affect the Commercial Accounting Declaration EDI. In the event that it does, a commercial client bulletin will be sent in advance of the outage.
