You possessed one the essential prerequisits for leadership in that you were a risk taker. Whether it was NAFTA where you succeeded or the Meech Lake Accord where unfortunately you did not ( but you did get the approval of all ten premiers ). if I meet you in Heaven I'll tell you one of my favourite Irish jokes.

The outpouring of respect and affection for Brian Mulroney by people from all walks of life is a testament to the man he was - wise, kind, generous, devoted, caring - and an amazing politician who was dedicated to our country and earned the respect of people across party lines and around the world. He will be missed and fondly remembered by so many.
My condolences to the family, friends, colleagues and all Canadians.

Absolutely the most emotional service!
I learned so much about him, watching the service on the television.
BOY, the music was perfect. And, to hear his voice, belting out those songs, was such a GIFT given to Canada, as we all stood with you, holding your hands as we collectively said our goodbyes...Canada is praying for you all, as you heal and try to find your ways with one empty seat at the table.
Ttfn, Mr. Mulroney. May you rest in peace, ever in the arms of Our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Canada has lost another political giant. Mr. Mulroney was one of the last from an era of politicians who understood that one could make a point, make or change laws, by fighting fair. There was no need to hate your opposition colleagues or demean them or their families. I truly hope that his legacy serves as a reminder to future generations that this is the way to be a successful politician and human being. Sincere condolences to his family on the passing of a husband, father and grandfather.

My sincerest sympathies to the Mulroney family (Mila, Caroline, Ben, Mark, Nicolas) as you grieve your loss.

Coming of age in the 1980s as a son of an NDP sympathetic labourer I did not support the Mulroney government’s free trade and economic policies. Over time and as I adopted my own views, I’ve come to see how it has benefited the country. I’m also
moved and inspired by how he cared for others, reaching out to them by phone in their time of need. He will be missed.

Mr.Mulroney was a great Prime Minister and a great Canadian who made people proud to be Canadian.

He was at Expo in Vancouver in 1986 the same day as my parents and sister, who has Downs Syndrome and knew who he was. She was overwhelmed with excitement when she saw him. He came over to her and hugged her in her wheelchair. A picture of that was taken that we cherish to this day.

Thank you for your service Mr. Prime Minister. May your memories be a blessing to your family.

My deepest condolences on the passing of Right Honourable Brian Mulroney. May the outpouring of respect and love sustain you at this difficult time.
In 1983/84 I served as a volunteer Staffer for The Leader & Family in Central Nova & N.S. Mr.Mulroney’s mantra “you dance with the one that brung ya” showed his strength & humanity: always returning to, “it’s all because of Mila.” Plus, his Rolodex wasn’t just a tool, it was his sincere way of connecting on a personal level with our diverse Nation.

It was an honour as a blind person to hear the kind, positive and personable lilting voice of Honorable Brian Mulroney.

Spoke about my friend Chief Elijah Harper and the 1987 Meech Lake Accord. The Prime minister questioned how I felt about friendships and trust in people I relied upon for support and guidance, as a blind person.
He told me to remain optimistic; and gave a hearty laugh.
I will join in prayers with the rest of the Canada.

He studied at the university in Nova Scotia, home to many African Americans who escaped slavery in the US. He advocated for democracy in Eastern Europe after German unification and the end of apartheid in South Africa.

I worked in the Ontario Government in immigrant services. After the Liberals were elected, in 1986, I was seconded to develop a program in adult literacy and basic skills. In 1988, the Federal Government announced a literacy program to work in tandem with the Provinces by funding research and development in the field, as well as sharing by Provinces and Territories. I always remember one thing Mulroney said: Judge a democracy not by how it treats the majority, but by how it treats the minority!

As Brian’s second cousins, we three sisters found his older brother Joseph’s lost burial place researching our family tree. With the help of our aunt Maureen Maher, this news reached Brian and he took the time to phone Eileen to thank us. He said even the RCMP could not find the grave and called her a genius. We were so happy to help him with his family history and to receive his call. He was a kind, compassionate man and we send our sympathy to the family. May God have mercy on his soul.

I express my sincere sympathies to the Mulroney family in the loss of our great leader and Prime Minister . I had the privilege of serving as the National VP Atlantic, on the National Executive of the PC Party during several exciting years of his tenure. When he entered a room, his tremendous charm and charisma were immediately evident. He made everyone feel comfortable and confident. His huge accomplishments will not soon be replicated.
