Our history

The Farm Products Council of Canada (FPCC) was established in 1972 under the Farm Products Marketing Agencies Act, enabling supply management in Canada and the creation of marketing agencies for the poultry and egg sectors. FPCC’s creation marked a significant step towards a more organized and systematic approach to farm product marketing in Canada.

The Farm Products Marketing Agencies Act was amended in 1993 to allow the creation of promotion-research agencies and re-named the Farm Products Agencies Act.

The FPCC celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2022.
