Producers compensated for eligible claims
October 1, 2026
The Canadian Grain Commission has concluded the claims process for Grasslands Brokerage & Consulting Ltd. and has issued compensation to all eligible claims from producers. Following a review of individual producer claims, the Canadian Grain Commission determined there were 2 eligible claims submitted to the Safeguards for Grain Farmers Program for eligible unpaid deliveries to Grasslands Brokerage & Consulting Ltd. The Canadian Grain Commission issued 68% compensation from the company’s security to these producers.
The Canadian Grain Commission’s final audit of the company found additional amounts owing to several other producers. However, these amounts are ineligible for compensation because the deliveries fell outside of the program eligibility period or were of a grain that is not regulated by the Canada Grain Act.
