About the program
The POLAR International Partnership Research Development program supports Canadian research projects in the Arctic and Antarctic regions to build or expand international collaboration efforts. Up to $100,000 in funding is available per project over two years.
Research projects must be aligned with one of the research pillars in Polar Knowledge Canada’s Science and Technology Framework.
Who can apply
The following applicants can apply:
- Canadian academic institutions and organizations
- Indigenous and community organizations
Projects who received funding under the previous funding waves of the International Partnership Research Development Program are not eligible to apply.
Guide for applicants
The application guide describes eligibility requirements and other important information, including submission requirements.
Most successful applications will involve a project that has been ongoing for a minimum of two years. An existing research project is one that is already underway and has:
- defined research objectives
- ongoing research activities
- demonstrated progress toward research outcomes.
