Disclosure of Travel and Hospitality Expenses

Bill C-58, an Act to amend the Access to Information Act and Privacy Act and to make consequential amendments to other Acts, received royal assent on June 21, 2019. The Act reinforces the Government of Canada’s commitment to improve accountability and increase openness and transparency by providing greater access to government records.

The reporting of travel and hospitality expenses will be done within 30 calendar days after the end of the month in which expenses are reimbursed.

Disclosure of Contracts over $10,000

The reporting of contracts over $10,000, amendments that increase the value of contracts to over $10,000 and amendment over $10,000 will be done as follows:

  • First quarter (April 1 - June 30) within 30 days of June 30
  • Second quarter (July 1 - September 30) within 30 days of September 30
  • Third quarter (October 1 - December 31) within 30 days of December 31
  • Fourth quarter (January 1 - March 31) within 60 days of March 31
