File your taxes to continue receiving your GIS payments
If you haven’t filed your 2024 taxes with the CRA, your Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) payments may stop or be reduced.

Description of Old Age Security pension
In most cases, Service Canada will be able to automatically enroll you for the Old Age Security (OAS) pension if we have your eligibility information. Service Canada will inform you by mail.
If it’s been one month since your 64th birthday and you still have not received an enrollment letter, you may need to apply.
Payment amounts
Maximum OAS pension at age 65 (January 2025): $1740.09/month
Maximum OAS pension at age 75 (January 2025): $814.10/month
