The Government of Canada’s Management, Resources and Results Structure 56 (MRRS) is the foundation of a government-wide approach aimed at strengthening the management and accountability of public expenditures and clearly demonstrating results for Canadians. The Program Alignment Architecture (PAA) is part of the MRRS. National Defence’s PAA shows how its programs align with the Department’s two strategic outcomes. Internal Services is a stand-alone program which defines activities and resources that support the organization’s program needs and corporate obligations.

Federal tax expenditures

The tax system can be used to achieve public policy objectives through the application of special measures such as low tax rates, exemptions, deductions, deferrals and credits. The Department of Finance Canada publishes cost estimates and projections for these measures annually in the Report of Federal Tax Expenditures 65. This report also provides detailed background information on tax expenditures, including descriptions, objectives, historical information and references to related federal spending programs. The tax measures presented in this report are the responsibility of the Minister of Finance.
