How to get a police certificate – Taiwan
If you need to give your fingerprints for a police certificate, this isn’t the same as giving your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) for an application.

- some temporary residence programs

You need to apply through the Taipei City Police Department if you live
- in Taipei
- outside Taiwan
You can apply
- online
- in person
- by mail
- fax
Check the Taipei City Police Department website for downloadable application forms and detailed instructions, including required documentation and applicable fees.
If you live in another part of Taiwan, you need to apply at your local City Police Department.
