# 2019-277 Releases, Regular Officer Training Plan, Release - Compulsory

Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP), Release - Compulsory

Case summary

F&R Date: 2021-05-19

The grievor challenged their involuntary release, the category of their release and the method used to make that decision. As redress, the grievor requested monetary compensation.

There was no Initial Authority decision.

The Committee found that the grievor's release from the Canadian Armed Forces was justified and in accordance with policy considering the grievor failed to meet minimum fitness standards and was unable to complete basic military officer qualification training. Additionally, the Committee found that the grievor was released under the most appropriate release item as it was considered honourable and the most applicable to the grievor's circumstances. Finally, the Committee found that the grievor's release date was reasonable and complied with the applicable policy in place, which provided that the release should occur as soon as possible following approval.

The Committee found that the grievor was not aggrieved and recommended that the Final Authority not afford the requested redress.
