# 2020-206 Pay and Benefits, Canadian Forces Integrated Relocation Program, Relocation - Reservists

Canadian Forces Integrated Relocation Program (CFIRP), Relocation - Reservists

Case Summary

F&R Date: 2020-03-25

The grievor complained that he had been denied a move of his household goods and effects from Hamilton to Toronto upon accepting a three-year Class B position in Toronto. The Committee found that the grievor did not meet the three conditions to be entitled to relocation benefits. Namely, the employing unit had not recommended the payment of relocation benefits and the Director Compensation and Benefits Administration had not approved relocation benefits prior to the grievor undertaking a relocation on his own.

FA Decision Summary

The Final Authority (FA) agreed with the Committee's findings and recommendation. The FA also reminded the grievor's Commanding Officer of the obligation to ensure that moving expenses were clear and according to guidelines in future Reserve Employment Opportunities.
