Today, Minister of Diversity, Inclusion and Persons with Disabilities, Kamal Khera, congratulated the Foundation for Black Communities (FFBC) on launching its second call for proposals under the Black-led Philanthropic Endowment Fund. Through a $200-million endowment from the Government of Canada, the Black-led Philanthropic Endowment Fund was established to create a sustainable source of funding for Black-led, Black-focused and Black-serving non-profit organizations and registered charities in Canada.

The Federal, Provincial, and Territorial Ministers Responsible for Social Services Forum met virtually on September 12, 2024, to discuss the federal government’s implementation of its Canada Disability Benefit, which is intended to support the financial security of current and future generations of working-age Canadians with disabilities. The meeting was co-chaired by Canada’s Minister of Diversity, Inclusion and Persons with Disabilities, the Honourable Kamal Khera, and the Northwest Territories’ Minister of Health and Social Services, the Honourable Lesa Semmler.

Today, the Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Official Languages, Randy Boissonnault, announced more than $2.9 million in funding for nine projects under the Canadian Apprenticeship Strategy’s Investments in Training Equipment stream. Canada Employment Insurance Commission confirms 2025 Employment Insurance premium rate

The Canada Employment Insurance Commission today made available the Actuarial Report and its summary for the 2025 Employment Insurance (EI) premium rate. The rate is set at $1.64 per $100 of insurable earnings for employees and $2.30 for employers, who pay 1.4 times the employee rate. This represents a two-cent decrease from the 2024 EI premium rate of $1.66 for employees and $2.32 for employers.
