BRAMPTON, ONTARIO – Kyle Seeback, Member of Parliament for Brampton West, on behalf of the Honourable Julian Fantino, Associate Minister of National Defence, today announced investments worth $2 million to improve infrastructure at the Brampton Armoury. Repairs will begin at the Brampton Armoury this summer.
The $2 million investment will provide a complete interior renovation and remodelling of the armoury, including new walls, flooring, wiring and heating systems.
To support Canadian Armed Forces personnel, the Department of National Defence has identified a requirement to complete a number of improvements to its Armouries. A total of $135 million will be invested in DND Armouries across the country over the next two years.
The Brampton Armoury serves as the regimental headquarters for The Lorne Scots (Peel, Dufferin and Halton Regiment), an infantry reserve unit that has been established in the area for almost 150 years.
