  1. Effective , increases (that is, “A” and “X”) are paid as a retroactive lump-sum payment equal to a 3.50% economic increase and a 1.25% wage adjustment, for a compounded total increase of 4.79% of , rates.

Pay Notes:

  1. Economic increases:
    1. Effective April 1, 2018, the salary ranges for the Executive (EX) Group are increased by two point eight percent (2.8%).
    2. Effective April 1, 2019, salary ranges for the Executive (EX) Group are increased by two point two percent (2.2%).
    3. Effective April 1, 2020, salary ranges for the Executive (EX) Group are increased by one point five percent (1.5%).
    4. Effective April 1, 2021, salary ranges for the Executive (EX) Group are increased by one point five percent (1.5%).
  2. The economic increases are to be applied to the executive’s salary that was in effect on April 1 of the years above, following the application of any in-range salary movement resulting from the previous performance cycle.
  3. Salary calculations rounded to the nearest dollar ($1): The Treasury Board approved changes to the Directive on Terms and Conditions of Employment for Executives to round salary calculations to the nearest dollar ($1). In the interest of ensuring consistency across the core public administration, organizations must round all salaries in effect to the nearest dollar ($1).
  4. New salary ranges: The new salary ranges are obtained by applying the rate of increase effective in each year to the previous year’s minimum and maximum of the ranges, then rounding to the nearest dollar ($1).

  1. The base salary of employees in the Executive (EX) Group is increased as follows:
    1. Revisions made in 2015: On April 1, 2014, to a salary within the "X" salary range which is zero point five percent (0.5%) higher than the salary within the "$" salary range, rounded to the nearest hundred dollars ($100).
    2. Revisions approved in 2018: On April 1, 2014, to a revised salary within the "A" salary range which is one point twenty-five percent (1.25%) higher than the salary within the "$" salary range, rounded to the nearest hundred dollars ($100).
    3. Revisions made in 2015: On April 1, 2015, to a salary within the "Y" salary range which is zero point five percent (0.5%) higher than the salary within the "X" salary range, rounded to the nearest hundred dollars ($100).
    4. Revisions approved in 2018: On April 1, 2015, to a revised salary within the "B" salary range which is one point twenty-five percent (1.25%) higher than the salary within the "A" salary range, rounded to the nearest hundred dollars ($100).
    5. On April 1, 2016, to a salary within the "Z" salary range which is one percent (1%) higher than the revised salary within the "B" salary range.
    6. On April 1, 2016, to a salary within the "C" salary range which is one point twenty-five percent (1.25%) higher than the former salary within the "Z" salary range, rounded to the nearest hundred dollars ($100).
    7. On April 1, 2017, to a salary within the "D" salary range which is one point twenty-five percent (1.25%) higher than the former salary within the "C" salary range, rounded to the nearest hundred dollars ($100).
  2. The amount of retroactive remuneration is equal to the difference between what would have been paid had the latest revisions been approved on their effective dates and what has already been paid.
  3. The salary increases are to be applied to the executive’s salary that was in effect on April 1 of the years above, following the application of any in-range salary movement resulting from the previous performance cycle.
  4. In the interest of ensuring consistency across the core public administration, organizations must round all salaries in effect to the nearest multiple of $100. Salary calculations ending in $50 are rounded up to the next multiple of $100.
  5. Executives who received a performance rating of "Did Not Meet (Level 1)" are not eligible for the salary increase applicable on April 1 of the following performance cycle. As a result, an executive’s salary can fall below the minimum of the salary range of the executive position.

    1. Notwithstanding this pay note regarding the rounding of salary calculations, the salary of an executive paid at the maximum of the salary range on will move to the new salary maximum effective .
