Analytical testing service: Malting barley varietal purity
Description of service
24 TaqMan single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) genotyping assays are amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) from deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) extracted from 144 randomly selected barley kernels. Resulting marker profiles are compared with the Canadian Grain Commission’s Grain Research Laboratory reference catalogue for barley varieties registered in Canada.
It takes 4 days to complete this test.

Fees shown are before tax. The applicable taxes (Goods and Services Tax and provincial sales tax in Quebec) will be collected on these fees.

Service standard
- Documents detailing the results of inspection support services are issued within 2 business days after completion of all required analytical testing or inspection results.
