Key priorities

The National Battlefields Commission’s top priorities for 2025-26 are as follows:

  • Major replacement work on the copper roof of the Plains of Abraham Museum;
  • Major refurbishment of the greenhouse to ensure the sustainability of the heritage asset and floral production for the park's horticultural needs;
  • Feasibility study for the restoration of the eastern sector of the Plains of Abraham (Cove Fields);
  • Continued implementation of new website with interactive and transactional phase;
  • Refurbishment of the Grey Terrace;
  • Re-roofing of 390 De Bernières Avenue.

The following provides a summary of the department’s planned achievements for 2025-26 according to its approved Departmental Results Framework. Core responsibility 1: Conservation

Planned spending: $13,351,278

Planned human resources: 22 FTE

Departmental results:

The NBC will take all necessary action to ensure that its territory is maintained and safe for its users. It will also maintain its assets in accordance with its asset maintenance plan.

Planned spending: $3,225,328

Planned human resources: 19 FTE

Departmental results:

The NBC's range of educational, cultural and heritage activities will be deployed. Its new website will continue to be implemented. In addition, programming will be specially designed for summer 2025 at the Edwin-Bélanger Bandstand.
