What do we buy

Public Services and Procurement Canada is to establish an NMSO for government departments, agencies, Crown corporations, and organizations participating in the Canadian Collaborative Procurement Initiative (CCPI). This procurement tool is used for the purchase of specialized security hardware products, such as:

• cylinders
• push button locks
• handles
• combination locks
• electronic locks

How do we buy

• The standing offer (SO) is used to buy a wide variety of security hardware products
• Vendors are typically authorized resellers and/or distributors with network points across Canada
• Prices are delivered duty paid (DDP) to destination
• Users normally select the products from one or multiple manufacturer’s suggested retail price lists, depending on their individual requirements

Value / Savings / Considerations

As a result of the business volume, economies of scale are generated by the use of the SOs. Canada benefits from having quick access to a wide selection of suppliers as well as being able to use an efficient procurement method to fulfill their requirements.
