If you have a concern about a supplemented food, we encourage you to report it. Please provide as much information as possible. Since complaints and concerns are addressed based on risk, you may not receive a response unless a risk is identified.
Concerns about supplemented foods
Manufacturers must follow specific requirements to make sure supplemented foods are safe for you to eat or drink.
You may have concerns about a supplemented food’s safety, quality or labelling.
Examples include:
- safety concerns:
- eating or drinking the food may result in mild reactions, such as headaches, or more severe reactions, resulting in a hospital stay, disability or life-threatening condition
- quality concerns:
- presence of a foreign material in the food
- labelling concerns:
- the required cautionary information was missing from the label
