[A bird’s-eye view of buildings covered with snow, followed by Ibrahim sitting in an interview chair speaking to the side of the camera then three side-by-side scenes with Ibrahim performing cupping therapy.]

Ibrahim: My name is Ibrahim, and I'm an addictions counselor. I also run my own cupping therapy business.

[Ibrahim in the interview chair, then entering a school and a classroom.]

Ibrahim: My focus with work lately has been in high schools doing addictions preventions with teenagers, and also healthy habit workshops.

[Ibrahim in the interview chair, with inserts of him standing over his laptop in the classroom, wiping a white board and teaching a class of students.]

Ibrahim: My favorite poet, Rumi, said, what hurts you, blesses you, darkness is your candle. In my early adulthood, I struggled with dark periods of depression and mental illness. And so I know what it's like to feel lost. But I also know what it's like to have someone extend a helping hand. One of the reasons why I love the work that I do in working with youth is because I get to be the adult and the mentor that I wish I had growing up.

[Ibrahim in the interview chair with inserts of him grinding and preparing coffee.]

Ibrahim: Now, as an addictions counselor, I probably shouldn't admit this, but coffee is my addiction. What I like about specialty coffee is that it's not so much about the coffee itself as it is about the process. And I think that's true for many different things in life. It's something that I find very grounding and very meditative.

[Ibrahim in the interview chair followed by him walking in a street and closeups of him smiling and laughing.]

Ibrahim: I think the struggles we go through and the wounds we carry, they're not just meant to break us, they're meant to shape us. And I think that's why a part of me connects with this archetype of the wounded healer.
