- Apply as soon as possible. Applications will be assessed as they are received and funding decisions made on an ongoing basis.
- Applications requiring funding beginning in 2026-27 must be submitted by September 14, 2026, at 12:00 pm Pacific Time. Priority will be given to shovel-ready projects.
3. How to apply
To apply for funding through the Build Communities Strong Fund (BCSF) Local Impact Stream in British Columbia:
- review the applicant guide
- apply through the online application portal
- When you create a submission, select PacifiCan - Build Communities Strong Fund (BCSF)
Complete applications must include all of the following:
- A completed online application
- Copy of ownership/lease agreement
- Financial statements for the past two years
- Proof of confirmed funding (if applicable)
- Proof of permission to undertake renovations (if applicable)
Incomplete applications will be deemed ineligible and will not be assessed.
You may also submit additional supporting documents that may strengthen your application, such as:
- a project plan/Gantt chart
- proof of regulatory approvals
- letters of support
- resolutions to proceed
- other documentation acknowledging construction readiness
PacifiCan encourages recipients of funding to use Canadian content and materials where reasonably competitive and available. Recipients are also encouraged to consider climate resilience in their projects.
Information provided by applicants may be shared with other federal departments and agencies, provincial/territorial governments, and/or municipal governments, for the purpose of reviewing projects and determining eligibility for other Government of Canada programs.
