Pacific Economic Development Canada (PacifiCan) is the dedicated federal economic development agency for British Columbians.
New investments announced
In Spring 2026, the Government of Canada announced new national investments through the Regional Artificial Intelligence Initiative, the Regional Tariff Response Initiative, the Build Communities Strong Fund Local Impact Stream, and a new Regional Development Fund to support the transformation of the forest sector. Together, these investments represent a significant expansion of federal support to help businesses in British Columbia innovate, adapt to global trade disruptions, strengthen key sectors, and drive long-term economic growth.
