CBSA seizes 12 stolen vehicles in two weeks

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced today the seizure of three shipments of stolen vehicles, for export, at the Port of Halifax within the last month.

On May 26, 2016, CBSA officers working with the Halifax Export Unit searched a container destined for export containing two vehicles. After running checks on the vehicles they were determined to be stolen. On June 1, 2016, CBSA officers examined two more export containers. During this search it was determined that they contained six stolen vehicles. Following additional searches of two shipments on June 10, 2016, the Export Unit seized four more stolen vehicles.   

The seized vehicles were later transferred to Halifax Regional Police for further investigation.
