News Release

On September 7, 2017, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officers at the Calgary International Airport intercepted 3.3 kilograms of suspected opium concealed inside tennis balls.

Officers noted anomalies within the tennis balls, which were inside a suitcase. The tennis balls each contained black tar-like substance, which tested positive for suspected opium. CBSA officers also seized a small amount of steroids.

The traveller was arrested and turned over to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police along with the seized suspected opium and steroids.
