Two placement agency directors face 32 charges under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced that two individuals appeared by counsel today at the Laval Courthouse to face 32 charges under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) related to hiring illegal workers.
Under IRPA, Edinson Manuel Infantes Salas and Erika Anilu Gallegos Guillen are accused of having hired unauthorized foreign nationals to work and, in order to contravene the Act, of having in their possession documents that could establish the identities of many people and using them for the purpose of misleading legitimate employers.
Salas and Gallegos face sentences of up to 14 years in prison and a $50,000 fine.
