Purpose and objectives of transfer payment program

The objective of the IORCP is to provide funding assistance that facilitates Indigenous offender reintegration support by strengthening community partnerships, enhancing community engagement and increasing awareness of CSC programs within communities.

Expected results

Enabling the department to enter into contribution agreements with Indigenous governing bodies, Indigenous not-for-profit organizations, and/or communities provinces, territories, municipalities, and non-profit organizations, towards projects that provide capacity and project management support for Indigenous offender community reintegration initiatives in a reasonable and cost-effective manner.

Purpose and objectives of transfer payment program

The objective of the NICP is that contributions are used, where appropriate, to assist CSC address eligible infrastructure priorities in a cost-effective manner and which assist CSC achieve its strategic objective that “the custody, correctional interventions, and supervision of offenders in communities and institutions, contribute to public safety.”

Expected results

Enabling the agency to enter into contribution agreements with provinces, territories, municipalities, and non-profit organizations, towards construction done by those bodies, where the agency cannot otherwise do so in a reasonable and cost-effective manner or through existing mechanisms.
