Between the sheets

Library and Archives Canada's Canadiana sheet music collection has grown to become the most comprehensive in the country. It includes over 20,000 patriotic and parlour songs, piano pieces, sacred music and novelty numbers; some of which date back to the 1700s. In this episode, archival assistant Gilles Leclerc from LAC joins us to discuss LAC's sheet music collection. We will explore what sheet music is, what is in LAC's collection and how it came about. We'll also talk about the historical value of sheet music and why it's still relevant today.
