About the Youth Advisory Council
The Youth Advisory Council is made up of engaged, curious, creative, and motivated people from across the country who share their vision, ideas, and experiences to help LAC better meet the needs of young Canadians.
Topics that have been discussed in the past include digitization, literary programs, genealogy and censuses, and programming and events.
YAC members will:
- attend monthly virtual meetings until March 31, 2026, hosted by LAC staff

dedicate time each month to complete assignments, such as
- doing research
- writing text
- commenting on LAC’s policies and initiatives

make recommendations on how LAC interacts with the public through
- communications
- programming
- services
- co-develop projects with LAC staff
