April guided tour of the Preservation Centre

Guided tours are reserved for those aged 12 and up (minors under 17 must be accompanied by an adult).

Library and Archives Canada’s Preservation Centre, located in Gatineau, Quebec, opens its doors to the public for monthly guided tours.

Opened in 1997, this architectural gem boasts vaults to protect archives from all hazards and laboratories enabling our specialists to digitize documents and carry out restoration treatments.

During a 60-minute tour, you will have the chance to wander through the laboratories and vaults, discover works by Canadian artists, and learn how our specialists work every day to preserve history. It’s a behind-the-scenes look at how we preserve your documentary heritage!
