Government of Canada to increase RCMP pay

News Release

The Honourable Ralph Goodale, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, confirmed the following salary increases for the RCMP, approved by the Treasury Board of Canada today:  

  • 1.25% effective January 1, 2015;
  • 1.25% effective January 1, 2016; and
  • a 2.3% market adjustment effective April 1, 2016.

The increases apply to RCMP members in the rank of Superintendent and below, as well as Special Constables. 

With these salary increases, RCMP total compensation, including pensions and benefits, is in line with what is provided to the eight police forces covering 90% of the Canadian population.
