Joint Statement by Minister Lawrence MacAulay (Federal Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food) and Minister Steve Crocker (Minister of Fisheries and Land Resources, Newfoundland and Labrador) on Annual Meeting of Federal, Provincial and Territorial Ministers of Agriculture

July 18, 2017 – Ottawa, Ontario – Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Fisheries and Land Resources Newfoundland and Labrador

The Honourable Lawrence MacAulay, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, and the Honourable Steve Crocker, Newfoundland and Labrador Minister of Fisheries and Land Resources, today issued the following statement on the upcoming Annual Meeting of Federal, Provincial and Territorial (FPT) Ministers of Agriculture.

“Canada’s Ministers of Agriculture will be meeting this week to continue our discussions on the development of the next agricultural policy framework, as well as related priorities for the agricultural sector.

We are committed to having a new suite of programs and services in place on April 1, 2018, that will meet the needs of farmers, producers, processors, and consumers, and respond to existing and emerging priorities of the sector.

We look forward to working together over the next several days to build on our partnership and success and to further strengthen Canada’s agriculture and agri-food sector.”
