11 British Columbia projects receive agriculture innovation funding

February 14, 2018 – Kaslo, British Columbia – Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and the BC Ministry of Agriculture

Advanced Intelligent Systems Inc.:
$100,000 to develop an autonomous nursery robotic system.

Cedar Biotech Inc.:
$200,000 to validate the presence of Cedar Leaf Oil Vapor (CLOV) in poultry hatcheries and processing facilities.

Eatmore Sprouts & Greens Ltd.:
$46,085 to design, build and test a prototype for an improved sprouter device and finalize the design for production.

Jollity Farm:
$46,395 to develop zero-waste water buffalo curds and whey production.

Kaslo Sourdough:
$75,000 to study the potential health benefits of fermented pasta.

Sons of Vancouver Distillery:
$17,400 to design and build a continuous distillation system aimed at the medium to large craft distillery market segments.

Summerland Varieties Corp.:
$55,750 to develop best practices for the storage of organic Ambrosia apples using Dynamic Controlled Atmosphere (DCA).

TerraBioGen Technologies Inc.:
$37,500 to demonstrate and develop a market for TerraBioGen M1 in the floriculture industry.

University of the Fraser Valley:
$7,000 to demonstrate okra and eggplant field production in the Fraser Valley.

University of Northern British Columbia:
$83,500 to conduct cash crop and bioenergy crop feasibility study in the Bulkley-Nechako Regional District.

Vanderpol’s Eggs Ltd.:
$88,466.50 to commercialize and market frozen and fresh Tamago, the sweet cooked omelette-like egg often used in sushi bars.
