Canadian Forces Flight Safety Manuals
Canadian Forces Flight Safety manuals are issued by the Chief of the Air Force Staff on the authority of the Chief of the Defence Staff.
The A-GA-135-001/AA-001, Flight Safety for the Canadian Armed Forces, describes the Flight Safety Program which guides all personnel involved with Canadian Forces aviation operations or support to operations in the prevention of accidental loss of aviation resources. Copies are available on the DFS Intranet or upon request via email at dfs.dsv@forces.gc.ca.
A-GA-135-002/AA-001 - Occurrence Investigation Techniques
The Occurrence Investigation Techniques manual (A-GA-135-002/AA-001) contains the various investigation techniques available to Flight Safety Officers for them to conduct investigations. This manual complements the Airworthiness Investigation Manual (A-GA-135-003/AG-001) and both manuals must be read in conjunction.
The Airworthiness Investigation Manual (AIM) delineates Airworthiness Investigative Authority (AIA) policies, procedures and instructions for Airworthiness Investigations and details how the AIA interacts within the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Forces (DND/CF) and with persons, agencies, companies or authorities outside of DND/CF. Consequently, the AIM applies to all Flight Safety Investigation activities carried out by the DND/CF. Copies are available on the DFS Intranet or upon request via email at dfs.dsv@forces.gc.ca.
