British Commonwealth Air Training Plan aircraft

The British Commonwealth Air Training Plan (BCATP) used a wide variety aircraft to train aircrew as pilots, navigators (observers), bomb aimers, wireless operators and flight engineers.

Once their training was complete, many went on to Operational Training Units (OTU), to make the transition to the aircraft they would fly on operations. (Others would train at OTUs in Great Britain.)
