Snowbird 5 Second Line Astern, Canadian Forces Snowbirds
Captain Thomas Thornton was born in Belleville, Ontario. He joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 2005 under the Regular Officer Training Plan. Upon graduation from the Royal Military College of Canada in 2009, he was commissioned as an Artillery Officer. In 2012, Captain Thornton transferred into the Royal Canadian Air Force to begin pilot training.
Captain Thornton earned his wings on the CT-156 Harvard II in 2014 and completed further training on the CT-155 Hawk. He was subsequently offered a position instructing on the CT-155 Hawk. He earned an A category instructional rating on the CT-155 Hawk.
He brings over 2,000 hours of military flying experience to the team.
