Aircraft Structures Technician Lead, Canadian Forces Snowbirds

Corporal Jonathan Benson grew up in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He first moved to Moose Jaw in 2002 where he spent 15 years working as a journeyperson cook. Looking for a more fulfilling career, Cpl Benson joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 2017. Cpl Benson reports having always been fond of the military due to serving members in his family; but also, notes that his interest in aviation grew following his move to Moose Jaw where he could watch the Snowbirds practice right in his backyard. Cpl Benson completed his basic training in the summer of 2017 and attended his trade training courses in 2018. Throughout his training, he discovered and developed a real passion for the maintenance of Aviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE). Following his graduation, Cpl Benson is posted back to Moose Jaw to work with 431 (Air Demonstration) Squadron in the capacity of ACS Technician. Cpl Benson joined the team for his first show season in 2022 as Force Generation. He is looking forward to this 2023 season and will this time hold the position of Aircraft Structures Technician Lead.
