Crew Chief Aviation Technician, Canadian Forces Snowbirds
Sergeant Simon Fredette was born in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, in 1989. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 2008 as an Aviation Systems Technician. Sgt Fredette completed his trades training at Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Borden and was next posted to 8 Air Maintenance Squadron at CFB Trenton to work on the CC-130H Hercules fleet. Moving forward, Sgt Fredette moved to 436 Squadron, also located at CFB Trenton, where he worked amongst the first generation of CC-130J Super Hercules Technicians. During his nearly twelve years in Trenton, Sgt Fredette took part in several operations including: Op BOXTOP, Op MOBILITY GUARDIAN, Op OPEN SKIES and Op IMPACT. In 2022, Sgt Fredette was posted to 431 Air Demonstration Squadron in Moose Jaw, Sask.
He is assigned the position of Crew Chief Aviation Technician for the 2023 show season.
